It’s not much different here either. We need a flexible system that allows young people to find their passion and strengths. For some an academic pathway, others vocational. All could benefit from team building, problem-solving and presentation skills. But examining people to remember things rather than appropriately use resources is archaic, outmoded and not appropriate for an Alix Henderson Dr Pepper Is A Woman Shirt large number of people. Most schools only provide vocational training to kids that have been removed from mainstream lessons. This stuff needs to start very early not in year 10 in my way of thinking. Seems like incredibly poor school management to only offer such useful courses kids that have been removed from mainstream lessons. There are no vocational options at all & It’s in a deprived area with quite a lot of children who are simply not interested in being educated. We already are finding after their mock exams that that many are failing & may not be entered into GCSE exams. Doesn’t help that we’re in one of the most underfunded boroughs in the country. There simply is no money for vocational courses. Take away the awful SATS and the tyranny of Ofsted. Let teachers teach with flair and imagination. Yes. The exam system at the senior end of the school is top-heavy, but the changes need to start earlier.
My brother was told he wouldn’t amount to much when he was in primary school. The Alix Henderson Dr Pepper Is A Woman Shirt said he was disruptive, actually, he was just bored. He dropped out before his exams and worked hard to become multiskilled in the trade like fencing, laboring etc. It pays well and he didn’t need a degree to get far. Your son will most definitely mount to great things if he works hard enough at what he’s good at.
