Seems to me that is an evidence-based fact. I’m not religious but if grouping people together under one banner instead of group vs group everywhere isn’t development, then I’m not sure what development is. I understand you want science to get the credit and the superstitions to get less of it, but it’s not the way. When Frances Fukuyama, a political scientist whose opinion I deeply respect, said that religion doesn’t get enough credit for forming advanced human culture I was disappointed. His take doesn’t seem true to me but I didn’t really have any grounds to disagree.
