Conversely, I’m a lifelong metalhead and don’t understand reggae, although I certainly respect its cultural contribution. I understand extreme metal can sound like noise to the uninitiated, but when the Silver And Black Boomin Shirt complexities and nuances of it are understood, it is technically stunning. The stamina and precision needed to play it are phenomenal. Incidentally, for metal with clean vocals and soaring melodies, I would look up the live version of Ghost Love Score by Nightwish.

It’s a fine example of the other end of the metal spectrum, and Floor Jansen’s voice is breathtaking. As a musician myself, if the music is written and performed well, it doesn’t matter what genre it is. I see people posting Opeth which is kind of not genre specific. I would have figured people on the spectrum like death metal. To some, like myself, the rapid rhythms are soothing. While you may have Silver And Black Boomin Shirt some talent, Tam, if you can’t understand why shouting is part of metal, you don’t have a very keen understanding of music in general.

All of the music is expression and communication of emotion. Many emotions are harsh and difficult, and screaming effectively communicates that. Reggae only effectively communicates getting high on the beach. I’m down with the indie hipster music and alternative electronic/rock mainly. A lot of my friends are metalheads. I think it’s pretty awful personally, and all that jazz about appreciating the structure of the music, I’ve heard enough double kick drums with blokes screaming on top, sounding like they need to squeeze one out.
Yet it’s just my preference, have very rarely met a metal fan who was horrible, compared to fans of bad modern RnB, pop, techno dance or pop/rock. There’s a lot of Silver And Black Boomin Shirt bad punk music and lame emo stuff from the late 90s/2000s with that whiney Californian voice that I can not stand at all, that fake Green Day punk twang, Good Charlotte, that sort of thing, give me real 70s punk music over that any day.
